‘In a Different World’ is the 4th single from Letargik’s upcoming album ‘Cosmic Gossip’. I have been dying to share this song with you and I am so grateful that the day has come.

This song can be interpreted in multiple of ways. However, I personally see it as about accepting and learning from the mistakes I made in the past, knowing who I really am and realising where I fit in in this sacred palace of life. I could never imagine writing anything this raw and honest in the past and writing this was a liberating process.

I am Indonesian and yesterday was my country’s 77th Independence Day. I was imagining what it felt like to witness the moment Soekarno declared our independence from centuries of colonisation and disunity, paving ways for the future generation, myself included, to understand ourselves better and help each other in our own unique ways. The liberation from the shackles of the past. The potential of the unknown future. The truest self-exploration.

I now see that:
We are the only ones who can forgive ourselves
We are the only ones who can accept ourselves
We are the only ones who can save ourselves
We are the only ones who can declare our own independence
We are the only ones who can forge our own new paths
We are who we are

Each one of us is responsible for our own worlds. Break the walls you have built around you, they are only made of glass. Look and embrace the silence within you, you will find the only key to enter the new world. There is only one path and I don’t know what you’re going through right now but I can promise you you are nearly there, so keep looking inside.

These words are not only mine, they are yours too. Revolutionise yourself, trust yourself, love yourself. I learned my lesson, now it’s your turn.

I’ll see you again next month for the next chapter from ‘Cosmic Gossip’ ♾
